To address the liquidity crisis in commercial banks, Bangladesh Bank has relaxed the cash reserve ratio (CRR). Previously, banks were required to maintain a daily reserve of 3.5% of their total deposits with the central bank, but this has now been reduced to 3%. This change will release approximately BDT 90 billion into the market, helping banks meet increased customer demand. However, banks must still maintain a 4% CRR on a bi-weekly basis.

On Tuesday, two Iranian nationals and a Bangladeshi were assaulted in Vatara. The reason behind the attack remains unknown. Officer-in-Charge Mazharul Islam of Vatara Police Station stated that the injured Iranians were given medical treatment and brought to the station. Their phones and cash were stolen during the incident. Due to language barriers, police have struggled to communicate with them, as they only speak Arabic.

Police in Nawabganj arrested 10 members of a robbery gang in the middle of the night while they were preparing for a heist. Authorities recovered weapons and stolen goods from the suspects. According to police sources, a special checkpoint was set up at Kaykobad Square under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Ashraful Alam around 12:30 AM on Monday night. When several individuals attempted to flee from a truck, local residents and police officers managed to detain six of them. Based on their information, three more were arrested later.

Residents of Collegepara in Brahmanbaria were horrified when blood started flowing from their water taps. Upon investigation, police discovered a decomposed body of an unidentified young man inside the water tank of a residential building. Locals stated that the deceased was not from the area. Superintendent of Police Obaidur Rahman confirmed that the body was recovered and sent to the district hospital morgue for autopsy. Adviser Sakhawat Hossain assured that there is no shortage in the supply of essential commodities, as imports have been made in sufficient quantities. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Atikul Islam has been accused of physically assaulting bus driver Ghulu Mia of Islam Paribahan in Muktagacha, Mymensingh. In protest, transport workers blocked the Mymensingh-Tangail highway for an hour by parking buses and trucks on the road. The incident reportedly took place during a dispute over a directive that restricted more than one bus from stopping at the terminal. While the driver and transport workers claim the UNO physically assaulted him, the UNO has denied the allegations.

In a crackdown against mugging, police in Bhairab have arrested 60 suspected muggers from various locations in the upazila over the past four days. On Tuesday morning, 12 of them were sent to jail through the Kishoreganj court. According to Bhairab police, 16 suspects were detained on February 27, 8 on February 28, and another 18 on March 1. Among them, 35 are identified criminals with multiple cases of theft, mugging, and robbery filed against them across different police stations. The remaining 25 were detained on suspicion, with several complaints lodged against them as well.

The advisory council has decided to grant martyr status to the military officers killed in the 2009 BDR mutiny at Pilkhana. Earlier, on February 23, a government directive declared that February 25 would be observed annually as 'National Martyr Soldiers’ Day.’ The mutiny and subsequent massacre resulted in the deaths of 57 army officers and a total of 74 individuals.
