Kader Siddique, President of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, has been accused of forging documents to seize control of educational institutions and properties established by his late brother Iqbal Siddique in Gazipur. The Press Wing of the Chief Advisor has dismissed recent reports claiming a surge in crime across the country, calling them inaccurate. In a statement issued Monday, the Press Wing said that official statistics show the rate of major crimes has remained stable from September 2024 to June 2025. Most serious crimes have either declined or remained unchanged, though there have been slight increases in some categories. Citizens were urged to maintain trust in law enforcement and avoid spreading public fear.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two cases against Awami League Joint General Secretary and former MP Mahbubul Alam Hanif and his wife, Fauzia Alam, on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 32 crore and conducting suspicious financial transactions totaling nearly Tk 110 crore.

The Dhaka Bar Unit of the pro-BNP Bangladesh Nationalist Lawyers' Forum has announced it will not defend any of the accused in the murder case of scrap dealer Md. Sohag. A video showing National Citizen Party (NCP) central member Imamur Rashid allegedly accepting Tk 7 lakh from a female entrepreneur has gone viral on social media. The footage, shared by BNP leader Dr. A.K.M. Wahiduzzaman, sparked widespread criticism. Rashid claims the money was a voluntary donation to the party fund and accused the woman of releasing the video after failing to gain undue advantages. However, the entrepreneur alleges she provided nearly Tk 48 lakh for project opportunities that never materialized.
