Three anti-discrimination activists detained in Dhanmondi over allegations of inciting a mob and verbally attacking a publisher were released into the custody of NCP leader Hannan Masud. Dhanmondi Police OC Kayshenu confirmed that the decision was made after a senior coordinator and family members intervened. The released individuals are Saiful Islam Rabbi (Convenor, Mohammadpur), Afarhan Sarkar Dinar (Senior Joint Secretary, Dhaka Metropolitan Unit), and Md. Ullah Jisan. The anti-discrimination platform later announced Rabbi’s removal from his organizational role due to alleged moral misconduct.

Gano Adhikar Parishad held a protest demanding the removal and arrest of DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz, whom they accuse of having links to the banned extremist group Hizb-ut Tahrir. The protest took place Tuesday afternoon in front of the DNCC office. Advisor Asif Mahmud claimed Ejaz’s appointment is a betrayal of the martyrs. Leader Farooq Hassan issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the government, warning that if Ejaz is not removed and arrested by then, a mass blockade of the Jamuna area would follow on Saturday.

The Nationalist Citizen Party (NCP) has announced a protest rally in front of the Election Commission (EC) office on Wednesday, demanding electoral reforms and local elections. Party convener Nahid Islam accused the EC of bias and said they could not trust it to conduct fair elections. He stated that the political direction after August 5 appeared engineered to gear up for national elections. He reiterated that local elections are urgently needed. On recent controversies, he clarified that NCP has no links with DNCC administrator Ejaz, calling for a proper investigation into the allegations against him.

BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan stressed that restoring democracy is now a pressing need. “There are political and social forces that want to delay the democratic process for their own interests,” he said. He reiterated that BNP has no objections to holding local elections under a caretaker government but emphasized that such a government must also oversee the national elections first. “It's not technically feasible otherwise,” he said. He also called for justice against those who aided the authoritarian regime and demanded both reform and swift national elections.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir warned that a dark shadow has fallen over Bangladesh's path to democracy. “A conspiracy is underway to delay elections and distance the people from the process through a renewed politics of division,” he said. “Institutions are being turned against each other. The government is deliberately creating internal discord.” He urged BNP members to remain vigilant and stand firm against all conspiracies. “We must not let the country’s independence and sovereignty be compromised,” he added.

Braving heavy rain, members of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal blocked Shahbagh intersection demanding the arrest of those responsible for the murder of Samya. Protesters shouted slogans such as "Why is the killer free while my brother lies in a grave?" and "We want justice!" Samya was fatally stabbed near Suhrawardy Udyan on May 13 around 11 PM while riding a motorcycle. He was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Islami Chhatra Shibir has condemned attacks by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on Polytechnic Institute students. On May 18, several JCD members allegedly checked the phone of student Rakibul Islam and issued threats. Later that night, 8–10 individuals identifying themselves as 2023–24 session students forcibly took Rakibul from his dorm room, held him captive, and brutally tortured him. They also recorded photos and videos of him in a compromised state and threatened to leak them. Similar attacks reportedly occurred in Cox’s Bazar, where JCD, along with outsiders, targeted polytechnic students. Chhatra Shibir demanded immediate justice.

BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu criticized India, saying, “If India were truly a civilized country, it wouldn't block visas or transit facilities to Bangladesh, nor would it kill civilians at the border or withhold Teesta River water.” He accused India and the ruling Awami League of perpetuating a culture of political vengeance. “Even after being elected, Ishraq was not allowed to assume office as mayor. Despite a court ruling in his favor, he still hasn't been sworn in.” He expressed concern over growing distrust in the country's political direction and called on Nobel laureate Dr. Yunus to facilitate a fair election. “If Dr. Yunus fails, we urge the Supreme Court to restore the democratic framework,” he added.

In a humanitarian gesture, senior BNP leader Tarique Rahman has reached out to the family of Rakibul Hasan, a protester injured in the 2024 uprising. Representatives from the "We Are BNP Family" initiative visited Rakibul’s home to inquire about his health and convey Rahman's message of solidarity and support. They also assured the family of assistance if needed. BNP leader Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was present during the visit.

BNP leader Ishraq Hossain issued a public message urging protesters and supporters not to disrespect leaders of other political parties, aside from those directly associated with what he called the “fascist Hasina regime.” He called for respectful language, even in criticism, and emphasized the importance of focusing the movement on restoring electoral rights and democracy through lawful means. Ishraq also stressed the need for a clear electoral roadmap and the resignation of controversial advisers, vowing to continue democratic protests without resorting to hate speech.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused the government of deliberately obstructing Ishraq Hossain’s appointment as mayor despite a court ruling in his favor. He questioned why Dr. Shahadat was allowed to assume the mayor's office in Chattogram while Ishraq is being sidelined. Rizvi also criticized the government for failing to bring those responsible for the 2024 uprising to justice, claiming the administration is more focused on suppression than reform. He condemned the mistreatment of university faculty protesting for housing and drew comparisons to previous instances of police brutality under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Supporters of Ishraq Hossain are staging a sit-in at the main gate of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), demanding he be appointed mayor. Protesters have locked the city building gates and blocked roads at Golap Shah Mazar, halting all vehicular traffic. City services have been suspended since 10 a.m. Protesters are also demanding the removal of adviser Asif Mahmud and an end to delays in the swearing-in process. BNP leaders, affiliate organizations, and a segment of DSCC employees have joined the demonstration in solidarity.

Islami Andolon Bangladesh has issued a statement urging that any decision regarding the foreign management of the New Mooring Terminal at Chattogram Port must involve consultations with all political parties, citing the absence of an elected government. The party warned that the current government's deviation from its core responsibility—organizing elections after reforms—is contributing to political instability. They also called for the prosecution of those responsible for killings during public uprisings and stressed the urgency of economic and structural reforms, warning that "the blood of July will not forgive" failure in these efforts.

Nahid Islam, convenor of the National Citizen Party (NCP), stated via Facebook that the party is actively pursuing the July Charter, the July Certificate, and elections for local government and a Constituent Assembly. In a previous post, he said the first step to dismantling a fascist regime is fundamental reform and drafting a new constitution. He emphasized that NCP values the ethical and humane aspects of Islam—the majority’s faith—along with the language, culture, and lifestyle of Bengali Muslims.

Two days after the BNP office in Comilla was attacked and set on fire, police have filed a case naming five individuals and accusing 20–30 unidentified persons. The suspects, all affiliated with the BNP’s student wing Chhatra Dal, include Md. Mohsin (32), Salah Uddin Rocky (30), Md. Sohag Hossain (30), Saiful Islam (25), and Maruf Ahmed (24). According to the complaint, the violence occurred Saturday evening and involved disgruntled party members unhappy with the newly formed Chhatra Dal committees of the South District and Metropolitan BNP.
