Addressing Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus, opposition leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu criticized the government, citing rising incidents of child abuse and street violence.

He questioned, “Was a mass uprising carried out for this? If you can’t handle it, step down.”

Dudu alleged that since taking office, Dr. Yunus has swiftly withdrawn legal cases against himself. “No mass movement led to his cases; I won’t go into why they were filed. But they were withdrawn quickly,” he claimed.

Regarding former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he argued, “Her trial could have been completed within six months. Young people are saying there will be no election before justice is served. If trials don’t happen, does that mean elections won’t happen either?”

He asserted that a one-year trial process could be concluded in just three months.

A Jashore court on Monday acquitted BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, in a treason case. The case accused him of making derogatory and defamatory remarks against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which were deemed seditious.

Following a court order, Jashore Kotwali police investigated the matter and later filed a charge sheet against Tarique Rahman. However, after a nine-year-long legal battle, the court found no substantial evidence to prove the allegations, leading to his acquittal.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved charge sheets against Sheikh Hasina and her family members in six cases related to land fraud in the eastern region. On Monday, a three-member ACC panel, led by Chairman Abdul Momen, authorized the charge sheets for submission to the court. This marks the first corruption case against Sheikh Hasina’s family members since their removal from power seven months ago. The charge sheet also includes former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed and Hasina’s former APS Mohammad Salauddin.

BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that the interim government takes BNP’s allegations personally. Speaking at a Women’s Party protest, Rizvi alleged that the government, in some cases, seeks revenge. He also accused the administration of failing to control rising sexual violence, stating, "Women have been victims of oppression since Sheikh Hasina’s tenure. Now that Chhatra League and Jubo League are not active, who is responsible for these crimes?" Rizvi criticized students’ involvement in administrative affairs instead of focusing on education.

Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin has stated that the student wing of BNP has no significant sources of income. "If there is no income, then the question of financial sources is not very relevant," he said in response to recent debates between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir over funding sources. He mentioned that Chhatra Dal’s activities are supported by former leaders, businesspersons, and expatriates. He also emphasized that Chhatra Dal is a BNP-affiliated organization and receives some financial participation from BNP for joint programs.

Jamaat-e-Islami has accused former UP Chairman Nazrul Islam Manik of orchestrating the murder of two Jamaat activists in Satkania. Manik, who has been involved in Awami League politics, allegedly amassed a fortune of over a billion taka through various illicit activities over the past 16 years. He was a close associate of former MP Dr. Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi and built his wealth through illegal sand extraction, brick kiln operations, land grabbing, and even murder.

Local sources claim that after Manik went into hiding following the events of August 5, his assets—including brick kilns and forest land—were looted, amounting to an estimated Tk 500 million. Allegations have surfaced that the looting was led by the slain Jamaat activists Nezam Uddin and Abu Saleh.

The family of BNP leader and former ward councilor Chowdhury Alam has filed a complaint with a tribunal seeking justice for his enforced disappearance. Alam was the first victim of enforced disappearance under the Awami League government. Reports indicate that 18 individuals, including Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Ziaul Ahsan Zia, have been named as accused. The family claims that on June 20, 2010, Alam was attacked by individuals identifying themselves as RAB officers while returning from United Hospital in Gulshan. Local residents captured a man named Billal, allegedly a member of RAB-1, and handed him over to Gulshan Police Station. On the night of June 25, law enforcement officials allegedly abducted Alam in a white microbus from Indira Road, Farmgate. Fourteen years have passed, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

Enayet Hossain Khan, General Secretary of BNP’s Nazirpur Tatarkathi Union in Patuakhali, has been expelled from the party over allegations of vandalism, looting, and extortion. A press release issued on Sunday evening confirmed his removal. The statement claims that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, multiple incidents of vandalism, looting, and extortion were reported against Enayet. Upon investigation, the allegations were proven, leading to his expulsion from the party.

Tehran has strongly condemned Canada’s newly imposed sanctions against prominent Iranian individuals and institutions, calling them politically motivated. The sanctions target seven individuals and several organizations allegedly linked to arms production and the supply of weapons to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.

Iranian official Isa Kameli denounced Ottawa’s move as “illegal and unlawful,” claiming it violates the human rights of the Iranian people and holds the Canadian government accountable on the international stage. He further argued that the sanctions contradict the UN Charter and international trade regulations.

A female police constable named Iti was assaulted on Savar Road, Dhaka, and later admitted to Savar Government Hospital in critical condition. According to the victim, she was on an urgent assignment to Kaliakair Police Station when a local market committee leader stopped her rickshaw over a speed dispute.

Despite informing him of her police duty, the leader detained the rickshaw due to traffic congestion. When the argument escalated, he reportedly struck her with a stick, knocking her off the rickshaw while mocking her authority as a police officer. The suspect has been identified as a driver of a local BNP leader.

Five days after the killing of two Jamaat-e-Islami activists in Satkania, a case has been filed by the wife of one of the victims, Abul Saleq. The complaint alleges that the murders were premeditated and took place during a reconciliation meeting. Police have yet to arrest any suspects. The accused include former local union chairman Nazrul Islam Manik and several others. The case lists a total of 62 suspects.

BNP leader Moin Khan stated at an iftar gathering that politics should be about serving the people, not personal gain. “Politics is neither a profession nor a business,” he asserted. He warned that those who exploit politics for wealth accumulation—like the ruling Awami League—will face the same fate as them. Khan emphasized BNP’s commitment to honesty and democracy, rejecting the politics of corruption, oppression, and misrule. He also called for immediate national elections.

Senior BNP leader Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has dismissed the demand for a People’s Assembly election, calling it illogical and baseless. Speaking at an event, he stated that since Bangladesh already has a constitution, there is no need for such an election. He accused the ruling party of using the issue to delay the national elections. Tuku reiterated that BNP’s 31-point reform plan includes constitutional amendments after parliamentary elections but rejected any attempts to postpone the electoral process.

In a 24-hour crackdown, police in Chattogram arrested 39 leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League and its affiliated organizations. The arrests were made between Friday midnight and Saturday midnight. According to Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) sources, those arrested face charges under the Special Powers Act, Anti-Terrorism Act, and Penal Code for their alleged involvement in attacks on students and citizens during anti-discrimination protests. The suspects have been presented before the court.

The National Revolutionary Council has welcomed the recent admission by a former U.S. diplomat regarding Washington’s flawed role during the military-backed caretaker government of One-Eleven. The council stated that U.S. policies enabled the ruling League to seize power, leading to widespread repression of the people, for which the U.S. must take responsibility. They emphasized the need for America to provide compensation and rehabilitation for the victims. Additionally, the council called for an inquiry commission to assess India’s involvement in installing the League in power and its subsequent role in perpetuating fascist repression.
