Continuous rain in Dhaka since Tuesday morning has brought relief from the heat but increased suffering for commuters. Streets are filled with umbrellas and raincoats, while many low-income workers travel soaked to reach their destinations. Rickshaw pullers struggle with safety and low fares. Pedestrians without umbrellas face major inconvenience. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecasts more rain in the coming days, with heavier showers expected in several divisions. Temperatures may slightly drop during the day while remaining steady at night.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours in Chattogram, Khulna, and Barishal divisions due to an active southwest monsoon. A weather alert issued on July 6 warns of potential landslides in hilly areas of Chattogram and temporary waterlogging in parts of Chattogram city. Residents in affected areas are advised to remain cautious. Additionally, maritime ports have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number 3 to warn of rough weather conditions at sea.

A senior Hamas security official has revealed that 95% of the group’s leadership has been killed amid Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. Hamas has lost control of nearly 80% of the territory, which is now dominated by gangs and new tribal militias. Key infrastructure, including the Ansar Complex, has been destroyed or looted. Six new armed groups have emerged, further destabilizing the region. The conflict has killed over 57,000 Palestinians and injured more than 136,000 since October 2023.

Violence erupted at a U.S.-backed aid center in Gaza, leaving 743 Palestinians dead, with reports claiming Israeli forces and American-hired personnel fired on civilians. The Global Humanitarian Foundation denied the allegations. Witnesses described chaos as desperate families sought food. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes across Gaza killed dozens more, including displaced persons sheltering in homes and tents. Despite ongoing ceasefire talks mediated by Qatar, the U.S., and Egypt, the attacks persist, worsening the humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.

Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has rejected India’s allegations that China provided active support to Pakistan during the May conflict. Indian officials claimed China gave Islamabad direct intelligence on Indian positions, but Munir called such claims “irresponsible and incorrect.” Pakistan has dismissed these accusations before. Despite longstanding close ties and heavy Chinese investments in Pakistan, both India and China have been working to ease tensions since a 2020 border clash, though the recent conflict marked the worst violence in decades.

Israeli forces have started demolishing more than 100 residential buildings in the Al-Murabba’a area of the Tulkarem refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. Despite a temporary halt ordered by Israel’s Supreme Court, demolitions resumed citing urgent security needs. Meanwhile, Gaza has seen escalating violence with the Palestinian Health Ministry reporting over 100 deaths and 350 injuries in 24 hours. Since March, Israeli strikes have killed nearly 7,000 Palestinians and injured tens of thousands, with thousands still trapped under rubble.

Since the 2021 military coup in Myanmar, anti-junta fighters have reportedly downed 13 military aircraft worth approximately $170 million. The Kachin Independence Army and allies shot down five planes over Kachin and northern Shan States. The Karenni resistance claimed four more, including three fighter jets and two helicopters across Sagaing, Chin, and Karen regions. Additional reports from defectors mention seven more damaged or destroyed aircraft over multiple regions. The junta attributes some losses to mechanical failure and weather. Independent verification remains unavailable.

An IRGC adviser has stated that Iran has the military capability to fire missiles at Israel daily for two years without depleting its stockpiles. Major General Ebrahim Jabbari said Iran's underground missile bases and warehouses remain largely undisclosed, showcasing only a fraction of its defense capacity. He made the remarks amid recent Iran-Israel tensions that escalated into direct attacks, including U.S. involvement. A ceasefire was later announced, with both Israel and Iran claiming strategic success and halting further conflict.

Daniel Edri, a 24-year-old Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reserve soldier, died by suicide after struggling with severe trauma from his service in Gaza and Lebanon. Haunted by the smell of corpses and memories of fallen comrades, including two close friends killed during the Hamas attack on the Nova Festival, Daniel became overwhelmed by guilt and depression. Despite seeking help, delayed hospitalization led to his tragic death. His family is now fighting for him to receive full military honors, though IDF rules may prevent it.

At least 82 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Sunday, with 39 of the fatalities occurring in Gaza City alone, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Since the beginning of the conflict, a staggering 743 Palestinians have been killed and 4,891 injured while attempting to collect humanitarian aid, often distributed through centers affiliated with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation—a joint initiative backed by Israel and the United States.

The current war, which erupted following the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023, has dragged on for nearly 21 months. Former U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed a 60-day ceasefire deal that could soon be formalized. Israel Strikes Yemen’s Ports and Power Plant, Plunging Hodeidah into Darkness

Retired Israeli Major General Yitzhak Brick has challenged the Israeli Defense Forces' claim of nearly destroying Hamas in Gaza. In a recent opinion piece, Brick stated that Hamas currently has around 40,000 fighters, the same as before the war began. He emphasized that Hamas fights with guerrilla tactics from tunnels and was never a conventional army, making claims of its military destruction unrealistic. Brick warned that this resurgence signals a potentially prolonged conflict ahead for Israel, raising doubts about official military statements.
