The government has extended the executive powers of Dr. Sheikh Moinuddin—Special Assistant at the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges—to include the Ministry of Railways. The High Court has removed from its docket a writ petition seeking the formation of a high-powered judicial commission to investigate the brutal murder of scrap dealer Lal Chand in front of Mitford Hospital.
