Jalal Uddin, the convener of the BNP’s student wing in Dobaura upazila, Mymensingh, was seriously injured in a sudden attack on Monday night. The attackers remain unidentified.
Eyewitnesses reported that Jalal was ambushed near Dudhnoi Government Primary School by a group of assailants wielding sharp weapons. He was initially taken to the local health complex but later transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as his condition worsened. He is currently undergoing treatment.

Two butchers were hacked and seriously injured in Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar following an old rivalry over sharing slaughtering work during Eid-ul-Adha. The incident took place on Monday. Police have arrested one suspect, Md Arif Hossain (30), and recovered a machete and a Chinese axe from his possession.
The injured victims, identified as Md Shimul (26) and Suman (40), were attacked after Arif—reportedly upset over being excluded from the work—launched the assault.
