Armed robbers intercepted cattle traders in Mirzapur, Tangail, and stole BDT 7.8 crore ($730,000) after firing gunshots to create panic. The traders were returning in a private car when 8-10 motorcycles and a minibus blocked their path, broke the car windows, and held them at gunpoint before escaping with two cash-filled bags.

BNP leader Amanullah Aman has announced his son, Barrister Irfan Ibn Aman Ami, as a candidate for the upcoming national election. Aman, who serves as an advisor to BNP Chairperson, stated that all major developments in Keraniganj happened during BNP’s tenure. “If Barrister Ami is elected, the BNP government will construct a bridge over the Buriganga River, connecting Kholamura and Kamrangirchar, InshaAllah,” he promised. A court has granted a four-day remand for seven members of the banned militant group Hizb ut-Tahrir, accused of instigating terror and attacking police. They were arrested in Dhanmondi after an unauthorized protest march following Friday prayers. Police reported that the rally, consisting of 140-150 members carrying banners and placards, chanted slogans against the government.
