Banned activists from the Chhatra League attacked a National Citizens Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj, part of the month-long ‘July March.’ On Wednesday morning, a group led by district general secretary Ataur Rahman Pial threw petrol bombs at police vehicles on the Ulpur link road, setting them on fire. Later, they attacked and vandalized the convoy of UNO M Rakibul Hasan in Baultali Union. The UNO confirmed that these attacks were aimed at sabotaging the rally. Three police officers were injured before the military intervened to restore order. Police have also blamed Awami League and Chhatra League supporters for the violence.

Faiz Ahmad Tayeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, stated that the government is working to enhance internet speed and reduce costs. Alongside updating the National AI Policy, Data Governance Act, and Telecom Policy, initiatives are underway to develop cloud infrastructure and improve the digital payment ecosystem. He criticized superficial digitization measures, such as simple online form downloads, emphasizing the government's push for genuine digital transformation. A National API Hub and active front desks at city corporations are also in progress. While these efforts began under the interim government, Tayeb expressed hope that future administrations would continue the reforms.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan met Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus at Jamuna on Tuesday evening. The VC briefed him on the overall situation at the university, including plans for Daksu elections, security issues, academic research, development projects, and student welfare initiatives. Dr. Khan sought the Chief Adviser’s assistance to accelerate pending projects awaiting ECNEC approval and to increase research funding. Tensions escalated in Gopalganj during the National Citizens Party's (NCP) month-long ‘July March’ campaign. In Gandhiashur area, banned activists from the Awami League and Chhatra League attacked the convoy of the local UNO, vandalizing vehicles. In a separate incident in ULPur, Chhatra League activists reportedly set fire to a police vehicle. Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incidents, stating they were attempts to disrupt the NCP's march. Several people were injured during the violence. The NCP’s scheduled rally took place in the town's municipal park in the presence of central leaders.

Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, Secretary General of the AB Party, has stated that an upper house of parliament would be futile unless it ensures power balance and accountability, potentially becoming a burden on the state. He stressed that if seats in the upper house are distributed like the lower house, accountability cannot be achieved. The AB Party demands a proportionally representative upper house with participation from all political parties. Fuad also warned that it must not become a rehabilitation center for political figures. US President Donald Trump has advised Ukraine against launching strikes on Moscow, countering earlier reports that claimed he encouraged attacks inside Russia. In Muradnagar, Comilla, local Jamaat leader Mahbub Alam Munshi threatened to physically assault Upazila Engineer Kazi Faisal Bari Purno and throw him out of his office. A 21-second video clip of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing Munshi engaged in a heated argument over a road repair application. Munshi claimed he became agitated due to the engineer’s negligence. The matter was later resolved through mediation in the presence of local leaders at the UNO’s office, with Jamaat representatives expressing regret. The UNO confirmed the incident.

In a Facebook post, he cited a local resident’s frustration with Sheikh Hasina’s defensive posture, highlighting growing public discontent. Sarjis emphasized the party’s vision of building a Bangladesh where no region, including Gopalganj, faces discrimination. He also mentioned the upcoming 'March to Gopalganj' program scheduled for July 16.

Frustrated with Russian President Vladimir Putin, former US President Donald Trump has issued a 50-day ultimatum to end the war in Ukraine, warning of imposing 100% sanctions on Russia if hostilities continue. In a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump reportedly asked whether Ukraine could strike Moscow and St. Petersburg, to which Zelensky responded affirmatively if supplied with adequate weapons. Israel’s ruling coalition, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has suffered a major setback as the ultra-Orthodox party United Torah Judaism (UTJ) pulled out. Long-standing disagreements over a draft bill exempting Yeshiva students from military service led to the rift.
