Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited the family of Shaheed Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho. Following discussions with the family members, he led a prayer session. Religious Affairs Adviser A.F.M. Khalid has announced that President Md. Shahabuddin will offer Eid prayers at Bangabhaban instead of the National Eidgah. However, the Chief Adviser will join the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah. The primary Eid prayer session is scheduled for 8:30 AM. In case of inclement weather, the prayer will be held at Baitul Mukarram Mosque at 9:00 AM. This marks a deviation from tradition, as the President typically joins the congregation at the National Eidgah.

For the first time in 15 years, Bangladesh is celebrating Eid without a fascist regime. Former Dhaka University student leader Sadiq Qayem emphasized the sacrifices made by thousands who lost their lives in the uprising. “Last year, many sons and daughters celebrated Eid with their families. Following devastating earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand, Bangladesh has dispatched emergency relief under the directive of the Chief Adviser. Two transport aircraft from the Bangladesh Army and Air Force left for Yangon, carrying 16.5 tons of aid, including dry rations, clean water, tents, hygiene products, and medical supplies. A 26-member military rescue team and a 10-member fire service unit are on standby for relief operations, while medical teams comprising both military and civilian doctors have also been mobilized.

A gunfight erupted between police, navy personnel, and armed criminals in Khulna, resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals, including notorious criminals Palash Sheikh and Kala Lavlu. Authorities in Gafargaon, Mymensingh, have imposed Section 144 at Lamkain Eidgah to prevent potential clashes over the selection of an imam for Eid prayers. Following an inspection of the National Eidgah, Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam assured that there is no security threat in Dhaka during Eid. Addressing reports of a sabotage plot allegedly discussed at an Awami League iftar event in Kolkata, he dismissed concerns, stating that criminals will always conspire, but necessary measures will be taken against them. He emphasized that security arrangements are robust and urged the public to report any suspicious activities.

BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, has sent Eid gifts to over 557 Islamic scholars across the country. According to BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan, the gifts were distributed through party leaders, including 106 scholars from Dhaka city. The initiative was taken as part of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations to honor religious leaders.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and acting chairman Tarique Rahman have extended Eid greetings to the people of Bangladesh. Professor Zahid Hossain, Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, informed the media that she is celebrating Eid in London at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence. “Madam is spending the day privately with her family. This is her third Eid in London, and her daughters-in-law and three granddaughters have arranged everything around her,” he said. He added, “She is doing much better than before. She can now say ‘Alhamdulillah, I am much better.’” Both Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman conveyed their heartfelt Eid wishes to the nation and BNP supporters.
