From July 1 to July 30, the National Citizen Party (NCP) will organize a countrywide program titled July March for Nation-Building. NCP Convenor Nahid Islam announced, “Starting July 1, we will commemorate the anniversary of the July Uprising. A year has passed—there have been achievements, but also disappointments. Remembering the historic 36 days of July-August is our moral duty.” The march will begin with a visit to the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed. The campaign will travel across the nation and conclude back in Dhaka. Additionally, NCP will observe “Anti-Discrimination Martyrs’ Day” on July 16.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 500 kilograms of catfish (locally known as "shing machh") while it was being smuggled into India via the Kasba border in Brahmanbaria. Acting on a tip-off, members of BGB-60’s Kharera BOP Camp conducted the operation. The seized fish were later auctioned off through customs authorities, confirmed Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ziaur Rahman, commander of BGB-60.

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan early Saturday morning, with the epicenter located approximately 60 kilometers northeast of Barkhan in Balochistan. Police have arrested Fozor Ali (38), the prime suspect in a brutal rape case in Muradnagar, Cumilla. He was apprehended from the Jatrabari area after being accused of breaking into a woman’s home, threatening her with a knife, and sexually assaulting her. Earlier, three individuals who had shared a video of the incident online were also taken into custody. The survivor herself filed a rape case against Fozor Ali at Muradnagar Police Station. The disturbing footage shows the aftermath of the assault, where locals beat the suspect and the victim attempted to cover herself as the video was recorded and circulated online.

Cumilla, Bangladesh – Following the rape incident in Muradnagar, Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud held those protecting ruling party criminals accountable for the worsening law and order situation. He wrote that local Awami League-backed thugs are being empowered through shelter and political support, leading to extortion, violence, and sexual assaults on civilians. He also cited a past incident where a mafia group attacked a police station to free an extortionist caught red-handed. Mahmud called on law enforcement to not only arrest the rapists but also bring their powerful backers to justice, warning that failure to do so would only embolden further criminal activity.
