The Election Commission has reinstated the registration of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and re-allocated its traditional election symbol — the scales. A new gazette notification nullifies the 2018 order that had canceled the party’s registration, following a court directive. The party’s registration was initially scrapped in 2013 for having a constitution that conflicted with the national constitution.

Iran has reportedly arrested six individuals accused of spying for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in the Hamadan province. According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, the suspects were identified and detained in Razan, Nahavand, and Hamadan cities. Authorities claim the group attempted to destabilize the country and damage Iran’s image by operating in cyberspace and coordinating with hostile agents. Iranian intelligence thwarted their efforts through “timely and accurate operations.” Previously, Iran had arrested 54 others linked to Mossad.

Effective July 1, the government will increase special allowances for public servants and pensioners. According to a revised finance ministry notification, active government employees will now receive at least BDT 1,500 per month, up from BDT 1,000, while pensioners will receive a minimum of BDT 750 instead of BDT 500. Pensioners receiving BDT 17,389 or more per month will get a 10% allowance, while those earning below that amount will receive 15%.
