Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian warned that continued Israeli airstrikes near nuclear sites could lead to radiation leaks. According to a report by The New York Times, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has pre-selected three senior clerics as potential successors. Citing Iranian officials, the report suggests that Khamenei anticipates the possibility of assassination attempts from the U.S. or Israel. In response, the Assembly of Experts has been instructed to be ready to act swiftly in case of a leadership vacuum. While the identities of the three candidates remain undisclosed, it has been confirmed that Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba, is not among them.

BNP leader Aminul Haque has called for fair distribution of shops among affected traders at Muslim Bazar, urging that allocations be revoked from individuals allegedly linked to the ruling Awami League and given to legitimate victims. Speaking at a meeting of the market committee, Haque claimed, “Those responsible for harming genuine traders with the support of pro-government collaborators must have their shop allocations cancelled. Hefazat called on the Muslim world to reject Western consumerism and moral apathy, urging unity in preparing for what it describes as an inevitable great war. The organization also accused Western countries of hypocritical humanitarian stances and reiterated its demand for the total destruction of Israel.

The Rajshahi Education Board canceled the upcoming HSC History second paper after question papers were found scattered and damaged in a police station trunk. An accused detainee broke the trunk’s seal, damaging 15 papers. Following the incident, two police officers were withdrawn, and two investigation committees were formed. The exam will now be conducted with new question papers across eight districts. The board chairman will visit the site for further assessment.

The BNP is preparing to file lawsuits against former chief election commissioners and their colleagues who oversaw three controversial national elections. According to party sources, BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed will visit the Election Commission office on Sunday morning to deliver an official letter signed by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to the current Chief Election Commissioner. Following that, Salahuddin is expected to file a case at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. The case documents will bear Fakhrul’s signature and will name the former election officials as accused parties in connection with their roles in allegedly rigged elections.

"We have reached consensus on several key issues. For areas where agreement is still pending, we will revisit those after the elections," he stated.

The Election Commission (EC) is accelerating its preparations for Bangladesh’s 13th national election, expected in April 2026.
