A government circular has confirmed a 10-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday for both public and private sectors. June 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) have been declared official holidays, while offices will remain open on Saturdays, May 17 and 24, to compensate. All public, semi-public, autonomous, and private offices will remain closed during the designated Eid holidays.

Flight operations have resumed at Lahore and Karachi airports after an eight-hour suspension caused by heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Two international and one domestic flight operated from Karachi today. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had temporarily suspended regular flights for 12 hours. Authorities are now gradually normalizing air traffic across affected airports.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 44 individuals who were illegally pushed into the country by India's Border Security Force (BSF) along the Roumari and Bhurungamari borders in Kurigram. Among those detained, eight have been identified as Bangladeshi nationals. The remaining 36 are undergoing verification, with preliminary assessments indicating they are Rohingya refugees. Of the total, 30 were apprehended at the Roumari border and 14 at Bhurungamari.

India’s “Operation Sindoor” targeted the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur, killing 14 individuals, including 10 relatives of Jaish leader Masood Azhar. Among them were Azhar’s elder sister and her husband, a nephew and his wife, and others close to the terror chief. The missile strike is being described as one of the deadliest in the campaign.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to appear on May 8 for questioning regarding alleged embezzlement in various airport development projects under her administration. Koishik Hossain Taposh, Chairman of Gaan Bangla, has been shown arrested in connection with the attempted murder of rickshaw-puller Abdul Jabbar during a mass uprising in Dhaka’s Gulshan last year.
