The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) prevented an attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push a woman into Bangladesh through the Rokonpur border in Gomastapur upazila of Chapainawabganj. A two-year-old child abducted from Fatullah in Narayanganj last Friday was rescued by members of RAB-11. Authorities arrested a couple, Sujon Mia, 31, and his wife Majeda, 29, in connection with the abduction. The child was later recovered from their custody in good health. According to RAB-11, the arrested couple lived as tenants next door to the victim’s family in the Lamapara area of Fatullah. They often interacted with the child, which helped them gain the family’s trust. On Friday morning, they allegedly took the child under the pretext of affection and later demanded a ransom of one lakh taka from the family, threatening to kill the child if the money was not paid. Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon announced that the new national syllabus and curriculum are being designed to reduce students’ dependence on coaching centers. The Bangladesh Private Clinic, Hospital and Diagnostic Owners Association (BPHCDOA) stated that canceling the license of Ad-Din Medical College Hospital in Dhaka is not the best solution following the deaths of six children. A union-level BNP labor leader named Jahangir Alam, aged 50, was killed on Monday evening during an arbitration meeting in Sultanpur Uttarpara of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila. Jahangir, son of the late Mohammad Ali, was a candidate for the position of vice president of the union BNP’s labor wing.
