Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the existing 25% tariff on imported steel and aluminum will be doubled to 50%, effective Wednesday.

At least 72 Palestinians were killed and 278 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza between Thursday evening and Friday evening, according to Palestinian health officials.
The Quds Brigade claimed that resistance forces launched an attack in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, resulting in 10 Israeli soldiers killed or injured.
Following Friday’s attacks, the total number of casualties in Gaza over the past one and a half years has reached 54,321 dead and 123,770 injured. Women and children make up 56% of those killed or wounded.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that more than 1,000 Indian nationals have been deported from the United States since January this year. Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal disclosed that 62% of these individuals were returned to India on commercial flights.

BNP leader Khairul Kabir Khokon has alleged that a vested group is orchestrating a deep-rooted conspiracy surrounding Bangladesh’s national election. A tourist boat in Tanguar Haor, Sunamganj’s Tahirpur upazila, caught fire around 8 PM on Friday. The blaze destroyed 80% of the boat, but all 12 tourists onboard managed to escape safely. According to the fire service, the likely causes of the fire could include a gas cylinder explosion, a kitchen fire spreading, or an electrical short circuit.

Three police officers and an Ansar member have been arrested in Bogura with 850 Yaba pills. Detective Branch (DB) police conducted the operation on Thursday. A narcotics case has been filed against them. Just hours after an unsuccessful attempt to push intruders into Bangladesh through the Roumari border in Kurigram, India’s Border Security Force (BSF) flew four surveillance drones into Bangladeshi airspace. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Friday night, raising alarm among local residents. No statement has been released yet by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Previously, BSF had flown five drones in two separate instances along the border.
