The interim government has suspended all ‘July Renaissance’ programs for three days following the fatal crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft in Uttara that left 20 dead. Tuesday, July 22, will be observed as a day of national mourning. Flags will be flown at half-mast on all public and private buildings, and special prayers will be offered in religious institutions across the country.

Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, Shafiqul Alam, visited the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Monday afternoon to inquire about the condition of the students injured in the crash.

Speaking with doctors, he assessed the medical response and treatment provided to the burn victims. The majority of the injured were students who were present in class when the aircraft plummeted into the school premises, igniting a large-scale fire.
