Interim government advisor Dr. Fawzul Kabir Khan has announced a plan to provide low-interest loans to replace unfit public transport vehicles. At a ceremony launching the 'Rapid Pass' card system at Hatirjheel on Sunday, he stated that restoring order to the public transport system is a government priority. The new card system was introduced on 10 BRTC buses operating on the Gulistan–Shibbari–Motijheel route, with five buses showcased at the event.

Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has denied allegations of mass arrests in Gopalganj, stating that only actual perpetrators are being taken into custody.
He acknowledged political motives behind the recent unrest but assured the public that the situation is stabilizing, with the curfew lifted and Section 144 soon to be withdrawn. He confirmed that no children have been arrested, and the security forces are prepared to ensure a fair and peaceful election. He also mentioned that the army is actively supporting operations as required.

Bangladesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to allow the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to operate a three-year mission in the country.
The mission will provide training and technical assistance to both government and non-government institutions, aiming to prevent human rights violations, investigate past abuses, and support compliance with national and international obligations.
The government emphasized that the mission does not represent a foreign social agenda but will operate within the framework of national laws and cultural values. It also clarified that the state reserves the right to withdraw from the agreement if deemed necessary for national interests.

There is no uncertainty surrounding the upcoming national elections, according to Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser of the interim government.
Speaking to reporters at an event at Comilla University, he assured that the elections will be held on schedule, as announced by the Chief Adviser, and all parties will have equal opportunity to participate.
He also noted that discussions are ongoing between political parties and election commissions regarding the proportional representation (PR) voting system.

Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain, religious advisor, inaugurated the Metropolitan Model Mosque in Khulna, describing mosques as the heartbeat of the Muslim community, essential for nurturing moral and humanitarian values in society. He revealed that out of the planned 564 model mosques across the country, 350 have already been completed.
Dr. Hossain announced that a comprehensive mosque management policy will soon be officially published in the government gazette, guaranteeing job security for imams and muezzins. Bangladesh’s Security Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that all individuals involved in the Gopalganj violence will be arrested and prosecuted. Speaking at a press briefing, he admitted that although intelligence agencies had information, the scale of violence was unexpected. Avoiding a direct answer regarding police failure, he said, “Let those responsible speak.” He added that the situation in Gopalganj is now under control.

Faruk-e-Azam, Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Advisor, announced that memorial plaques will be installed in 864 locations across the country—including Chattogram—to commemorate the "July Martyrs."
Speaking at the unveiling of a street memorial at Bahaddarhat Junction in Chattogram on Wednesday, he said plaques would be installed at the exact locations where the martyrs were killed, and transparent legal processes will follow. He also inspected ongoing construction of a monument in memory of eight martyrs in the city’s Panchlaish area.

Amid escalating violence in Gopalganj, the transitional government enforced a curfew starting Wednesday at 8 PM through Thursday 6 PM. Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan urged residents to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
“The situation is critical. Don’t leave your home unless it’s a matter of life or death,” he said, confirming that law enforcement presence has been ramped up. He warned that militants from banned organizations will be “neutralized.” The unrest followed an NCP rally that was violently attacked, triggering police and army intervention.

In a strongly worded statement, the transitional government has pledged swift legal action against those involved in the violent clashes during NCP’s program in Gopalganj. The statement labeled the violence “deplorable and unforgivable,” emphasizing that the peaceful rights of young citizens were violated.
The government assured that members of banned political organizations such as Chhatra League will face immediate legal consequences. It also praised the rapid intervention by police and army forces, reiterating that there is no place for violence in the democratic process.
Transitional Government Vows Swift Justice Over Gopalganj Violence
The government will officially observe "July Martyrs' Day" on Wednesday, July 16, with a day of national mourning. Flags will be flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, educational establishments, and Bangladeshi missions abroad.
Special prayers will be held in mosques and religious institutions across the country for the souls of the deceased. The day commemorates the death of Abu Sayeed, a student at Begum Rokeya University, who was killed by police gunfire during an anti-quota movement in Rangpur on July 16 last year. The government has since declared the date a national day of remembrance.

Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has no interest in being declared a 'National Reformer,' according to Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam. Following a High Court writ petition that sought such a declaration, the court issued a rule asking the government to respond. However, Yunus himself has declined the title, and the government has no such plans. The Attorney General's Office is reviewing the case, which also calls for the recognition of July Uprising martyrs as national heroes and the release of an official list. Respondents have been given four weeks to reply.

Beginning in August, the government will provide 30 kilograms of rice per month to 5.5 million poor and low-income families for six months, announced Food Adviser Ali Imam Majumder. The rice will be sold at a subsidized rate of Tk 15 per kilogram under the government's food-friendly program.
The rice distribution will occur in two phases: from August to November, and again in February and March, with a pause in December and January. To mitigate the impact of recent floods, the government plans to import 400,000 metric tons of rice and has instructed the Ministry of Commerce to facilitate the import of an additional 500,000 metric tons through private channels.
