Hate speech online includes labels like "jihadi zombie" and slogans such as "New York will become Pakistan." Some Indian-American communities have joined the smear campaign, but Mamdani retains strong support from diverse religious and ethnic coalitions. Experts view the attacks as part of a broader global fascist push and consider Mamdani's candidacy a symbol of political resistance.

Professor Nasir Uddin, Director of the National Burn Institute, confirmed that 8 of the 44 people admitted after the Uttara Milestone School and College plane crash are in critical condition. A medical board led by a Singaporean specialist is overseeing the treatment of 13 others with severe injuries. Although treatment protocols have been adjusted under international guidance, no decision has been made to transfer patients abroad in the next 48 hours.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed deep condolences over the Uttara plane crash in Dhaka that claimed several lives. He specifically praised Maherin Chowdhury, a brave teacher who saved 20 children during the incident. Expressing solidarity with Bangladesh, Anwar stated, “I will write to Professor Muhammad Yunus to convey my sympathy. The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams scheduled for July 22 and 24—postponed due to the Uttara plane crash—will now be held on the same day. Adviser C.R. Abrar said the July 22 exam will take place in the morning and the July 24 exam in the afternoon. However, the revised date has not yet been finalized. The exams affected include second papers of Chemistry, Islamic History, History, Home Management, and Marketing (July 22), and first papers of Economics and Engineering Drawing (July 24).

Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, former Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Wari Division, has been temporarily suspended following backlash over his viral comment, “Shoot one, they’ll die,” made during a mass protest. A government circular states that he has been absent from duty since August 28 of last year, which constitutes desertion. He had been attached to the Khulna DIG office. During suspension, he will receive subsistence allowance.

Six bodies from the recent plane crash in Uttara remain unidentified at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) morgue. The Ministry of Health confirmed that DNA samples have been collected and sent to the CID lab for profiling. Families of missing individuals have been asked to provide DNA samples at the CID office in Malibagh. So far, only one family has responded, according to an official press release.

Nasir Uddin, a teacher at Dhaka’s Milestone School and College, shared his traumatic experience of witnessing the plane crash. “I heard a loud explosion. When I rushed outside, I saw a part of the building destroyed and flames everywhere. Students were screaming my name, begging for help.” He personally rescued several students. The pilot reportedly crashed near Nasir’s office and was later recovered. The Air Force confirmed the pilot tried to steer the aircraft to an empty area but ultimately lost his life. A formal investigation has been launched.

Police in Gurugram, Haryana, have detained six Muslim laborers from Malda, West Bengal, suspecting them of being Bangladeshi nationals. According to family members and rights activists, the men are being forced to work at the police station and are only being fed once a day. There are fears they may be forcibly pushed into Bangladesh. In response, the Migrant Workers' Solidarity Platform and several departments of the West Bengal government have called for immediate intervention. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condemned the incident, saying, “Speaking Bengali alone is becoming a reason for harassment under the label of ‘Bangladeshi’.”

The Saudi Arabian cabinet has reiterated its commitment to supporting Syria’s sovereignty, stability, and reconstruction efforts.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a “massive” trade agreement with Japan. According to Trump, the deal will see Japan invest $550 billion in the United States and impose a 15% reciprocal tariff.

The agreement will also open Japanese markets to American automobiles, trucks, and agricultural products. Speaking at the White House, Trump called the deal "one of the largest in history." Japanese negotiator Ryosei Akazawa also praised the agreement as a success.

Renowned filmmaker and interim government cultural advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has criticized the spread of misinformation following the recent plane crash at Uttara’s Milestone School & College.

Farooki stated that several public figures shared inflated numbers of missing individuals, which were shared over a thousand times on social media. "In moments of collective trauma, false headlines cause further psychological damage," he said, urging artists and influencers to act more responsibly.

According to ISPR, the crash has so far claimed 31 lives and injured 165 people.

Aryan, Bappi, and Humayr, three young boys from the same extended family, died in a military jet crash near Milestone School in Dhaka’s Uttara. Close in age, they were best friends, classmates, and playmates who attended school and coaching together. All three were fatally injured in the incident; two initially survived but later died in the hospital. The children were buried side by side, leaving the local community and their families devastated. Two more students from the area also died in the crash.

Bangladesh has submitted its final position paper to the United States Trade Representative (USTR), seeking a reduction in the 35% additional tariffs imposed during the Trump administration. The country has also requested a third round of negotiations to be held on July 26–27.

The previous discussions ended without a breakthrough, raising uncertainty about potential tariff relief. The new tariffs are scheduled to take effect from August 1.
