Salman Khan, a supervisor of the luxury bus line ‘Saint Martin,’ was abducted on Monday in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. He was reportedly taken by unknown individuals after his bus was stopped near the new road junction in South Alikhali on its way to Dhaka.

Mohammad Naim Mia (21), a college student, succumbed to injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital following a brutal knife attack in Gafargaon, Mymensingh. The incident occurred last Friday night and is believed to be a result of a longstanding feud.

The attackers allegedly include Topu Mia, his father Shamsul, Jalil (son of Islam Uddin), and several unidentified individuals. Naim's family also claims they are receiving threats. The Chief Adviser has ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the roles of former Chief Election Commissioners, Election Commissioners, and secretaries of the Election Commission Secretariat in organizing three controversial national elections.

During a meeting with the National Consensus Commission, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued the directive to form the committee without delay. The Dhaka University administration has formed the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election commission, appointing Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin of the Botany Department as the Chief Returning Officer. The United Nations has commended the initiatives taken by Bangladesh’s interim government to address incidents of enforced disappearances. The UN also welcomed Bangladesh’s association with the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance. During a meeting with the acting Foreign Secretary, representatives of the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) stated that they are visiting Bangladesh from June 15 to 19 to observe the situation firsthand. A court has imposed a travel ban on Mihir Kanti Majumder, Chairman of the Udvash Board of Directors, along with nine others. Their National Identity Cards (NIDs) have also been suspended following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). According to reports, the accused individuals illegally transferred BDT 89.78 million from the microcredit fund to an unauthorized Goldbricks project, violating the Microcredit Regulatory Authority Act. Additionally, BDT 44.8 million was diverted to the A&P Battery Project.
