BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir held a courtesy meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan. Fakhrul was joined by senior party leaders including Mirza Abbas, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Begum Selima Rahman, and ABM Abdus Sattar. Following the fall of the Awami League government, BNP leaders have visited China twice, with Fakhrul recently leading a nine-member delegation on a visit to Beijing.

Chief Election Commissioner A.M.M. Nasir Uddin said that foreign observers who endorsed the legitimacy of the last three national elections will not be invited for the upcoming polls. After a meeting with the Canadian ambassador in Agargaon, he stated that while many countries, including those in the EU, are interested in sending observers, those with a history of approving disputed elections will be excluded. U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that a schedule has been set for direct talks with Iran, stating that "they want to negotiate." Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump revealed that Iran has requested a meeting and is ready to reach a settlement. Expressing optimism, he added, “Hopefully, no further attacks will be necessary. BNP leaders from Bhola-2 have strongly refuted a land-grabbing allegation against senior leader and former MP Hafiz Ibrahim, calling it false and politically motivated. Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed 105 Palestinians and injured 356 others in just one day, the Gaza Health Ministry reported Monday. Since the beginning of the offensive on October 7, 2023, at least 57,523 Palestinians have been killed and 136,617 injured. More than 700,000 people have been displaced in Gaza since the Israeli military resumed operations in March following the collapse of a ceasefire, according to the United Nations. Over 100 people have died in sudden flash floods in Texas, USA, as rescue operations continue with helicopters, boats, and search dogs. The floods struck during the Fourth of July holiday, devastating a summer camp where 27 children were reportedly killed. President Trump has declared the floods a “catastrophe of the century” and initiated federal disaster relief. In Kerr County alone, 56 adults and 28 children have died. The Guadalupe River surged to the height of a two-story building within just 45 minutes. Authorities have warned of worsening weather conditions.

The Election Commission has issued letters to 50 registered political parties requesting submission of their annual income and expenditure reports. However, the banned Awami League was excluded from this directive. According to regulations, parties must submit the previous year's financials by July 31. Failure to submit for three consecutive years may lead to deregistration. Additionally, new applicants for party registration have been given a 15-day window to submit required documents.

The National Democratic Movement (NDM) has proposed key electoral reforms during a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). Among their demands: holding general elections by February, redrawing parliamentary boundaries within two months, capping campaign expenditures at Tk 4 million, and amending the Representation of the People Order (RPO) to prevent banned Awami League leaders from contesting elections under disguise.
