A case has been requested against Cumilla North District BNP joint convener Abul Hashem for allegedly seizing government land allocated to a landless person and constructing a multi-storey building on it. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced in parliament that a strong Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will be established, with a search committee being formed to appoint the commission’s chairman and commissioners. A young man named Antor Ali was killed by lightning while playing football in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj, on Monday afternoon. State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md. Two days after the killing of Jubo Dal leader Masudul Haque Chowdhury in Raozan, Chattogram, no case has yet been filed and no arrests have been made.
