Press Secretary Shafiqur Alam has confirmed receiving a letter from Tulip Siddiq seeking a meeting with the Chief Adviser. “This is a legal matter and will be addressed through proper legal channels,” he stated. The Press Secretary also clarified that Tulip Siddiq was not present during the Chief Adviser’s previous meeting with the All-Party Parliamentary Group. He further informed that BNP Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to meet the Chief Adviser on the morning of June 13. “There’s no specific format for this meeting. Since Tarique Rahman is a leader of Bangladesh’s major political party BNP, the meeting will take place,” he added.

Residents of Nandangachhi in Rajshahi’s Charghat upazila staged a protest by blocking the railway tracks on Wednesday, demanding that intercity trains stop at their local station and that the station be renovated. Starting around 6:30 AM, protesters used red flags to halt train movement from both sides of the station. As a result, several major trains, including the Dhaka-bound Madhumati, Banolata, and Silk City Express, as well as the Sagordari heading towards Khulna, have been stranded near the station. Van Verch, Executive Vice President of Airbus, has identified Bangladesh as a key priority market for the company. Two children drowned in separate incidents in Gosairhat, Shariatpur. The deceased have been identified as Alif (6), son of Selim Farazi from Pachkathi village, and Abdur Rahman (5), son of Md. Russel Sardar from Charsamantsar village. A businessman named Tutul (45) was shot dead by unidentified assailants in broad daylight in Kushtia’s Madhupur area. The incident occurred near a tea stall by the Madhupur brickfield market. Police reported that the attackers, hiding in the dark, fired two shots at Tutul before fleeing the scene. Around 200 meters of the embankment in Shariatpur’s Jajira upazila collapsed into the Padma River due to strong currents, endangering over 500 homes, several schools, and shops. The erosion began on Eid day and continued for two days. Residents are being forced to relocate. Authorities are providing emergency support, while a permanent embankment project is under process. Local leaders warn that without urgent action, 70% of the union could be lost to the river.

Attorney General Asaduzzaman has vowed that elections in Bangladesh will no longer be marred by irregularities like overnight ballot stuffing. “Never again will votes be cast at night. A delegation of British lawmakers from the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) has met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in London. More than 9.1 million animals were sacrificed across Bangladesh during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha, according to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. This figure is nearly 1.3 million fewer than last year’s total.

According to official data, 9,136,734 animals were sacrificed during Eid-ul-Adha in 2025, compared to 10,408,918 in 2024. Of these, 4,705,106 were cows and buffaloes, 4,430,668 were goats and sheep, and 960 were other animals.

The Sylhet division recorded the lowest number of sacrificial animals this year, with only 319,823 animals sacrificed. Mymensingh division followed with 383,162 animals. Rajshahi division saw the highest number of sacrifices, totaling 2,324,971 animals.

Leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement were attacked in Gopalganj while returning from distributing seasonal fruits to the families of students who were martyred or injured during the July uprising in Madaripur. District convenor Ashiqur Islam (23) and Kiran Akter (26) were critically injured and admitted to the hospital. According to reports, the incident began when workers of a passenger bus made offensive remarks toward the students during a rest stop. In protest, a few students boarded the bus to confront them, leading to an argument. The Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has issued an urgent directive to protect the OMR sections of evaluated SSC 2025 exam scripts from rain damage. Trade operations at Brahmanbaria's Akhaura land port resumed on June 10 after a four-day closure for the Eid-ul-Azha holiday. Activities restarted with the export of fish, confirmed by Md.
